Planning records

Show the calculation, not just the answer.

These are worked planning records for common interior finishing estimates. Every number is deliberately labelled, every purchase is rounded to an actual package, and every scenario is illustrative rather than a claim about a completed client project.

What a record contains

A calculator is useful when its assumptions can be checked. Each record starts with a small fictional scope, keeps raw measurements separate from allowances, follows the calculation through to a purchase quantity, and explains what would make the result change. The examples are not product instructions, installation specifications, or a substitute for site inspection.

Editorial note: HomeCalc Tools publishes calculation records to make planning assumptions visible. The scenarios are constructed examples, not field reports or endorsements. See the methodology for formula, review, correction, and scope standards.
